Lazy Sunday

Little Monster got back late Friday night from her trip to Corpus Christi, and she wasn't interested in anything but bed. We came directly home and Baby Girl went right to sleep. Daddy later found out that, while waiting for the connecting flight, Little Monster hogged into some chicken and mashed potatoes at the terminal restaurant, but Wee Goblin was mum about this.

Saturday was Mama's birthday. We took a day off from house hunting just to get the Tiny Werewolf back in the groove of things, and to give her a chance to rest after her two-week trip, but she was a little bit truculent. When we got to Fritti for dinner, Miss Fuss became very upset and wouldn't calm down until we were back in the car and on the way home. Joddie and her mom packed up everything from Fritti to go, and came to join Mama and Daddy at the house, where Little Monster had some pasta and a bath before heading off to bed. Although she was in a better mood at home, she still had a little crabletry in her system, and it took her longer than usual to fall asleep. But that's probably just because she heard the Big People out there having a grand old time while she was in her jammies.

Sunday was a good day to just laze around the house for Sweet Girl. She slept late, so things had already come to a lackadaisical start. Mama started her new job today, so the early afternoon involved dropping Mama off at work and then visiting the book store and Target with Daddy. Wee Goblin made some new friends at the book store -- a pair of girls maybe one and three years older than her -- while they picked up the special delivery of Mama's birthday gift.

Target was a lot of fun, and Daddy was up to his corny old antics as he pushed Baby Girl through the aisles. (Don't tell Little Monster, but Daddy got her an Easter card while he was picking up shampoo and vitamins!) Next came a quick trip home and some lunch as a preface to a much-needed nap.

After her nap, Little Monster scampered around in her walker for a little while, and then joined Daddy to pick up Mama after work. Mama came home and started some red sauce to make lasagna, and all of the sudden Little Werewolf began to howl in a most uncharacteristic manner! She returned from Corpus Christi with a vampire fanglet, and another one must be on the way because those were definitely teething howls. After some infant Tylenol and an emergency nap to let it work, Baby Girl woke up just in time for BBQ. Daddy went to get some at Maddy's while Madeleine was having her nap, and if anyone thought they were going to put one over on Baby Girl, they had another thing coming.

For dinner, Wee Goblin had BBQ ribs, corn and sweet potatoes, macaroni and cheese, and a Nutri-Grain bar! This monster is truly eating everything she can cram into her maw.

While Little Monster was away, her new friend Oliver was born to parents Eric and Nicole. Baby Girl hasn't yet met Oliver, but we're sure they'll get along great, especially since Miss Fuss is flirtatious when it comes to the boys. Be careful, Miss Fuss!

Wistful

I was a lonely youth on desert shores.
My sports were lonely, ’mid continuous roars,
And craggy isles, and sea-mew’s plaintive cry
Plaining discrepant between sea and sky.

Still On Vacation

Enjoying the animal show at the aquarium. Baby Girl was thrilled to see an animal that Mama described as a cross between an anteater and a lemur. Perhaps Mama was a little tipsy.

Playing in the park with a new sun hat and jumper.

Two Weeks of Travel

For those of you undergoing Little Monster withdrawal, join the club! Mama is in Corpus Christi with Wee Goblin and Daddy is on his own, missing his girls. Perhaps this video will hold you over a little bit. It's what Daddy has to get by with!

Late Night Activities

The last few days Little Monster has been a joy to be around. She's constantly happy and smiling, and even giggling at her own little antics. The pre-bedtime transformation to werewolf was caught on camera last night. Those faint of heart beware!

Where The Baby Girls Roam

Every day is an adventure when you're Miss Fuss, and some days are many adventures!

Sunday was a crazy snowstorm in northern Georgia. Who could have guessed it? The snowflakes were almost as fluffy as Little Monster's belly, and it was cold and wet. Wiggle-Critter likes wet when it comes to the bath, but she certainly does not like cold and wet when it comes to the weather. Mama hasn't seen much snow, either, though, so Wee Goblin indulged mama a bit and went outside with her for a few minutes. Then Mama came to her senses and brought Miss Fuss back inside, where everyone had hot pizza.

Friday, Mama took Baby Girl to the park near Joddie's house. It was a beautiful day and they had Daddy's car, since Mama's car is in the shop for a leaking water pump. They took advantage of the day and played in the flowers, ate grass (!), and lolled in the sunshine. Baby Girl even had a flower behind her ear, she was having such a frolic.

Then, after cavorting in the park, Little Monster came up to Daddy's office to be a part of the party that was happening there. It was a cookout, and Wee Goblin had some picnic food herself. Nothing like the brats or burgers cooked up for the big people, but it was fun to eat with Mama while Daddy was out on the patio, gesticulating wildly about some crazy idea of his. Baby Girl's friend Liam also came to the party, and the two of them giggled and smiled.

On Saturday, the adventure was houses. Little Monster must have seen almost a dozen houses today! She liked each of them, but Mama and Daddy are a little more picky when it comes to the place they want to put up a new nursery for Wee Goblin. They really seemed to like two or three, and Miss Fuss thinks a little cynically that they like the ones with the best kitchens. Can't they see that it's all about plenty of carpet to squish between our chubby toes and plenty of hardwoods to scoot across in the walker?

Baby Girl was very good while all the house-visiting was going on, but by the end of the day she had had enough. By the time we got home, a nice, long nap was in the offering. And tonight is bath night! An adventure like no other!

Oh, great, now Mama's talking about frogs.
